Gangseo-gu, Seoul, will hold the "14th Heo Jun Health and Medical Lecture Series" from next month 5th to December 21st (a total of 12 sessions).

Eleven medical experts, including doctors and Korean medicine doctors, will teach how to age happily with proper health management methods. Registration starts on the 26th of this month, and the first 100 applicants will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. The lectures will be held every Thursday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. for two hours at the audiovisual room of the Heo Jun Museum. The tuition fee is 35,000 KRW, and the field trip fee is separate. Those interested can apply through the Heo Jun Museum website or by phone (Gangseo-gu Culture and Sports Division).

Hwang Sang-ik, Professor Emeritus of the Department of Medical Humanities at Seoul National University College of Medicine, will lecture on the "Worst Influenza Epidemic in Korean History in the Year Muoh (1798, the 22nd year of King Jeongjo)," highlighting the dangers of bacteria and viruses that caused massive casualties.

Professor Kim Seong-hwan of the Department of Psychiatry at Catholic University Yeouido St. Mary's Hospital will present "Dementia Prevention and Brain Health Maintenance," Korean medicine doctor Lee Kwang-yeon will discuss "Medicinal Foods," and Professor Song Tae-jin of the Neurology Department at Ewha Womans University Seoul Hospital will introduce detailed methods to prevent various diseases such as headaches, cancer, rhinitis, and gout with lectures like "Don't Endure Headaches, Get Treatment!"

Additionally, participants will have the opportunity to experience traditional medicine and culture through field trips to the Handok Medical Museum in Eumseong, Chungbuk, and the Seoul Yakryeongsi Korean Medicine Museum located in Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul.

Meanwhile, Gangseo-gu will hold the health culture festival "Heo Jun Festival" from next month 13th to 15th. Gangseo-gu is the hometown of Heo Jun, the medical saint of the Joseon Dynasty.
