CJ CheilJedang has rolled up its sleeves to secure the world's top talent and future growth engines in the bio industry sector.

On the 25th, CJ CheilJedang announced that its executives, including Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Hwang Yoon-il, BIO Business Division Head Yoon Seok-hwan, and CJ Bioscience CEO Chun Jong-sik, recently met with leading scholars in Boston, USA, to catch the latest 'emerging tech' trends and held discussions with outstanding students.


Boston is a core global bio-industry cluster, home to global pharmaceutical and bio companies, research institutes, major universities such as the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Harvard, as well as venture companies.


CJ CheilJedang shared the latest research achievements in the bio field with startups operated by MIT professors and alumni, and discussed open innovation. They also exchanged opinions on the latest trends in technology and industry with advisory members of the CJ Institute, CJ CheilJedang’s research and development (R&D) expert group.


Additionally, they visited LabCentral, a bio startup support organization located in the bio cluster, and the U.S. branch of the Korea Health Industry Development Institute to share innovation cases of bio tech companies. The CJ Institute is an R&D expert group operated since 2022 to secure promising future technologies in the bio field early and to find new business opportunities.


CJ CheilJedang held the 'CJ Bio Talent Connect' event targeting Korean international students on the Harvard campus to recruit global top talent. At this event, the executives introduced ▲ differentiated R&D capabilities and top-level infrastructure in the microbiome and green bio fields ▲ innovative organizational culture and various welfare systems for employees, and held career mentoring sessions. CJ CheilJedang plans to strengthen its network with global talents to lead to future recruitment.


Lee Sang-hyun, BIO HR Management Leader at CJ CheilJedang, said, "The fundamental competitiveness and super-gap capabilities of the business depend on securing top talent, so we planned this event to network with key R&D personnel."
