A bigger controversy is that the iPhone battery issue is also appearing in the newly released iPhone 15. Reviews by IT specialist YouTubers have shown disappointing responses regarding the battery performance and heat levels of the iPhone 15 compared to its predecessor. [Photo by AFP·Yonhap News]
The bigger controversy is that battery problems are also appearing in the newly released iPhone 15. Reviews by IT specialist YouTubers have expressed disappointment with the battery performance and overheating levels of the iPhone 15 compared to its predecessor.
Through various tests, it has been confirmed that the iPhone 15’s battery drains faster and the overheating is more severe compared to the previous model, which has fueled the controversy.
According to overseas IT media, Chinese IT specialist YouTuber Geekerwan conducted battery life and overheating tests on the iPhone 15, and after playing a high-spec game for 30 minutes, the surface temperature of the iPhone 15 Pro rose to a maximum of 48.1 degrees Celsius.
This was measured to be about 2 degrees higher compared to the predecessor, the iPhone 14. Regarding this overheating issue, the industry suspects that Apple may not have sufficiently secured the cooling system or that there are design problems such as the layout of the semiconductor chips. Above all, smartphone overheating raises concerns as it can lead not only to device fires or malfunctions but also to performance degradation.
The iPhone 15 series will be released in Korea on October 13, which is three weeks later than the first release countries. In particular, the Korean release price is over 100,000 won more expensive than in the US and Japan, drawing criticism among domestic users.
