"Ijaemyeong Approval, Roh Moo-hyun Impeachment D?j? Vu"
"The Problem Was Not Deciding by Party Line Rejection"
Former Democratic Party leader Song Young-gil showed a heated reaction, calling it "the crime of disclosing facts about a suspect," in relation to Justice Minister Han Dong-hoon's 30-minute explanation of the reasons for requesting consent to arrest Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party, ahead of the vote on the arrest consent motion.
On the 22nd, former leader Song said on BBS's 'Jeon Young-shin's Morning Journal,' "I really don't understand how Minister Han passed the judicial examination, but I cannot help but feel anger at such a convenient and arbitrary denial and contempt of constitutional principles," he said.

The previous day, Minister Han explained the reasons for requesting consent to arrest Lee for 30 minutes, and Democratic Party lawmakers loudly protested. Former leader Song said, "An arrest warrant is about whether the crime is substantiated, which is a matter to be determined in court, and the warrant is requested due to concerns about evidence destruction or flight risk. Then one should speak faithfully to those facts. Why then disclose facts about the suspect, giving prejudgment and trying to influence the trial?" He added, "Minister Han's actions are an abuse of power and a violation of constitutional principles."

When asked by the host whether he expected the arrest consent motion to pass, he said, "I was worried but thought, 'Could it really happen?'" and added, "But I really felt a sense of d?j? vu, like when former President Roh Moo-hyun was impeached."
Regarding Chief Spokesperson Kwon Chil-seung casting a vote in favor and being labeled as a 'relevant act,' he said, "The problem is that the party leadership did not set a party stance," and added, "Rather, the party itself was self-contradictory in failing to decide to reject the arrest warrant consent for its own party leader as a party stance."
