Jungnang-gu Holds 103rd Memorial Ceremony for Martyr Yu Gwansun Ryugyeonggi Jungnang-gu Mayor is attending a memorial service and delivering a commemorative speech on the afternoon of the 21st.

Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Gyeong-gi) held a memorial ceremony on the 21st at the Mangwoo History and Culture Park Yoon Gwan-sun Martyrs' Joint Burial Site to commemorate the 103rd anniversary of the martyrdom of Yu Gwan-sun, which falls on September 28.


The memorial ceremony, co-hosted with the Yu Gwan-sun Memorial Association, was attended by about 60 people including Ryu Gyeong-gi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu, members of the Yu Gwan-sun Memorial Association, city councilors and district councilors, the head of the Seoul Northern Veterans Affairs Office, the president of the Jungnang-gu branch of the Liberation Association, the president and principal of Ewha Girls' High School Alumni Association, and bereaved families.


The event proceeded in the order of a commemorative address, memorial speeches, flower offering, reading of memorial writings, memorial song performance, leaving memorial messages, and three cheers for victory.


Mayor Ryu Gyeong-gi of Jungnang-gu said, "Through this 103rd anniversary memorial ceremony, I hope that the noble will and spirit of Yu Gwan-sun, who lived through a fierce era, will be widely inherited," and added, "We will cultivate Mangwoo History and Culture Park, which holds the history of the Republic of Korea including Yu Gwan-sun, as a precious memory space together with the residents."


The district will operate a memorial period honoring the spirit of Yu Gwan-sun until the 24th, providing flower offerings at the Mangwoo History and Culture Park Yoon Gwan-sun Martyrs' Joint Burial Site.
