People Power Party: "Lee Jae-myung must now bear corruption alone... Democratic Party must undergo a complete transformation"

On the 21st, the People Power Party commented on the passage of the arrest consent bill against Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, in the plenary session, stating, "It has been proven that no trick can evade the rule of law," and added, "The Democratic Party must now repent to the people for the behavior it has shown so far with a complete transformation."

Kang Min-guk, chief spokesperson of the People Power Party, regarding the approval of the arrest consent bill for Lee, said, "It is somewhat fortunate that the Democratic Party, which had previously given Lee a thick bulletproof vest in February, has belatedly realized that it can no longer reject the stern rule of law and the will of the people," but also remarked, "Nevertheless, the fact that nearly half of the votes were against it bitterly shows how many in the main opposition party still fail to understand the people's hearts and how much they care only about their own nominations rather than the 'people'."

Chief Spokesperson Kang stated, "Now, the court must conduct a proper investigation through the warrant review to ensure that Lee, who has caused harm to the nation and the people with numerous allegations without remorse, is properly investigated," and added, "The Democratic Party must now repent to the people for the behavior it has shown so far with a complete transformation."

He said, "It is now time for the National Assembly to break free from the 'Lee Jae-myung risk' and work solely for the people," and added, "The National Assembly must immediately focus on its original duties such as the upcoming confirmation hearings and national audits, and do its best to care for the livelihoods that are at a critical point. How long can we neglect the lives of the people because of the name 'Lee Jae-myung'?"

Chief Spokesperson Kang urged, "From now on, the personal corruption of Lee Jae-myung is entirely his own responsibility," and said, "The Democratic Party should return to its role as the main opposition party and work sincerely for the people."
