This stage will feature singers Lee Yong and Lim Byungsoo, who captivated the 1980s. Special guest singer Jung Yookyung, known as the ‘original fairy of the 80s,’ will join to fill the October autumn night with unforgettable nostalgic performances.

Mapo Cultural Foundation’s exclusive planned performance series "Eotteongayo" is designed under the theme "Music is a Time Machine," summoning legends who dominated the 1980s to 2000s to the stage.

At the series launch in July 2022, Jo Jeonghyun, K2’s Kim Seongmyeon, Emerald Castle’s Jiwoo, Lee Gyuseok, and Lee Jeongbong created a magnificent chorus of ballads. In January this year, dance legends Kim Wansun and Park Namjung heated up the stage, and in March, 90s original handsome singers Shim Shin, Lee Deokjin, Choi Yongjun, and Kim Seheon (Eve) set the stage ablaze, receiving great acclaim from audiences at every performance.

The sixth performance will showcase Lee Yong and Lim Byungsoo, who flourished in the 1980s, presenting nostalgic stages from that era.

October’s busiest singer, Lee Yong, is the original pension song artist who engraved "The Last Night of October" in the minds of the entire nation through his hit song "Forgotten Season." At the time, "Forgotten Season" was so popular that it was registered in the Guinness Book of Records for the highest number of single-day broadcasts. Even now, it remains a timeless classic, continuously remade for over 40 years by musicians across various genres such as Na Hoon-a, Jo Youngnam, Kim Beomsoo, and IU.

Lee Yong debuted in 1981 at KBS’s ‘Gukpung 81 Young People’s Song Festival’ with his debut song "Baramiryeo" and won the gold prize. He rose as a teenage idol by holding first place for 18 consecutive weeks on broadcast programs like KBS’s ‘Gayo Top 10.’ Subsequently, every song he released, including "Forgotten Season," "Seoul," and "Love, Happiness, and Farewell," became a hit. In 1982, he won the MBC Top 10 Singers Festival’s Most Popular Singer Award (Singer King), halting the dominance of Cho Yongpil, who monopolized the singer king title in the 1980s, and securing his place as one of the top singers.

Singer Lim Byungsoo, known for the hit song "Ice Cream Love," will also perform. "Ice Cream Love" became widely known to younger generations after being featured in the TVN drama "Reply 1988." Seo Janghoon, a broadcaster and former basketball player, revealed on JTBC’s variety show "Knowing Bros" that he is a longtime fan of Lim Byungsoo and that "Ice Cream Love" is his go-to karaoke song, highlighting Lim’s status as the top youth star of his time. His debut song "Promise" was also reappraised as the song Kim Soo-hyun sang to Jun Ji-hyun in the SBS drama "My Love from the Star." Recently, he has been actively promoting new songs such as "The Road I Take" and "Let’s Go to Jeju Island."

Special guest singer Jung Yookyung, the original fairy of the 1980s, will appear in this performance. In 1982, she gained great popularity with her clear voice as part of the dance group "Jjakkkung" on KBS’s popular program "Youth March." She has recently gained renewed attention as the mother of Mackay Kim, who reached the TOP 5 in SBS K-pop Star Season 2.
