Daitect Research Institute Chairman Jo Sang-hyung Receives 'Samwoo-dang Korea Textile Fashion Award'

Cho Sang-hyung, Chairman of the Daitec Research Institute, received the '2023 Samudang Korea Textile Fashion Award.'

Samudang is the pen name of Mun Ik-jeom, a scholar from the Goryeo Dynasty who first introduced cotton seeds to Korea. This award is known as the Nobel Prize of the textile fashion industry and is given to exemplary business leaders who possess outstanding management skills as well as planning and execution capabilities.

Chairman Cho Sang-hyung currently serves as CEO of Buseong TFC Co., Ltd. and was appointed Chairman of the Daitec Research Institute in August 2021. Upon his appointment as chairman of Daitec Research Institute, one of the specialized production technology research institutes under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, he also donated 100 million KRW to the development fund.

Chairman Cho has an excellent personal network in both industry and academia, based on his experience in textile-related management, and is broadly developing global leap strategies.

He has continuously hosted the world's largest international textile conference, Dornbirn-GFC Asia, in Korea to strengthen the institute's global competitiveness, and is actively enhancing Daitec Research Institute's globalization by participating in 'ISPO Munich 2023,' a specialized exhibition for functional outdoor and sports goods held in Munich, Germany, this coming November.

Since his appointment, Chairman Cho has worked to improve cooperative relationships between the dyeing industrial complex and resident companies, and has also strengthened collaboration systems with other textile-related organizations, associations, companies, and public institutions.

To support an industry-close research institute, he established a Corporate Support Committee under the chairman to lead corporate support and is pioneering the institute's management to establish future-oriented dyeing and processing technologies.
