Indonesia's People's Consultative Assembly Chairman Bambang Susatyo stated on the 21st, "We support the successful hosting and bid of the 2025 APEC Summit in Gyeongju," according to Gyeongju City.
Chairman Bambang Susatyo, who is visiting Korea to commemorate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Korea and Indonesia, made these remarks during a luncheon meeting with Kim Seong-hak, Vice Mayor of Gyeongju, at a restaurant in Gyeongju.

On this day, Chairman Bambang Susatyo emphasized cooperation with Korea, saying, "On behalf of Indonesia, I thank the city of Gyeongju for its hospitality, which is the most Korean."
He further reiterated, "Indonesia has been a founding member of APEC since 1989, partnering with the Republic of Korea, and we have cooperated to revitalize the Asia-Pacific region's economy."
In response, Vice Mayor Kim Seong-hak of Gyeongju said, "The visit of the Indonesian delegation to Gyeongju in the year marking the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between our two countries will greatly contribute to expanding exchanges and cooperation between the two nations," adding, "We ask for your great interest so that the APEC Summit can be held in Gyeongju, a representative historical and cultural tourism city of Korea where future industries such as nuclear power and electric vehicles coexist."
After the luncheon meeting, Vice Mayor Kim Seong-hak and Chairman Bambang Susatyo agreed to strengthen exchanges between Gyeongju City and Indonesia.
Following this, Vice Mayor Kim also met with the Indonesian delegation led by Chairman Bambang Susatyo to explore cooperation measures.
Meanwhile, Chairman Bambang Susatyo is a member of Golkar Party, Indonesia's second-largest party, and has served as Chairman of the People's Consultative Assembly, the supreme legislative body of Indonesia's upper and lower houses, since 2019.
