The city will organize special monitoring teams along with each district office to conduct pre-holiday promotions, environmental patrols, and special crackdowns on environmentally vulnerable facilities such as basic environmental facilities and wastewater treatment companies, dividing the efforts into periods before and during the holiday.

From the 21st to the 27th, cooperation letters will be sent to companies discharging water pollutants to encourage voluntary inspections. At the same time, inspection teams will be formed to carry out special crackdowns focusing on companies discharging highly toxic wastewater such as dyeing and plating industries, as well as environmentally vulnerable businesses suspected of illegal pollutant discharge.

During the Chuseok holiday from September 28th to October 3rd, the city and each district office will operate water pollution situation rooms to prepare for water pollution accidents, conduct patrols of rivers and other areas, and ensure that emergency response systems are maintained immediately in case of urgent situations.

Park Sun-hee, Director of the Environmental Policy Division, stated, “We will thoroughly carry out river patrol activities and pre-inspections of pollutant discharge businesses in vulnerable areas to prevent environmental pollution accidents during the Chuseok holiday period. We ask citizens to report any observed environmental pollution activities.”
