Ha Tae-kyung: "30 to 60 Opposition Lawmakers Will Vote in Favor"

"60-70 People Who Did Not Visit the Dan-sikjang"

As the arrest motion for Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, is voted on in the National Assembly today, Ha Tae-kyung, a member of the People Power Party, predicted its approval, saying, "Justice will be realized in the National Assembly today."

On the 21st, Ha said on KBS's 'Choi Kyung-young's Strongest Current Affairs,' "The vote count is sufficient. The reason it will pass is actually because people personally ask me about it," expressing this view.

Ha said, "The lawmakers seem to feel that if they don't send him to prison this time, they will regret it for life," adding, "It's a matter of their political life hanging in the balance. If he goes to prison, I live; if not, I die?from the perspective of the anti-Lee faction."

He suggested that a large number of votes in favor will come from the so-called anti-Lee (非明) faction. He said, "Those people number at least 30, up to about 60," and added, "Our party will vote 100% in favor."

He explained, "No matter how much the 386 activist generation is criticized, they are people who have lived with the spirit of standing against injustice and refusing to compromise with it. Therefore, quite a few of them will cast votes in favor," adding, "Evidence of this is that in July, 31 people declared under their own names that they would give up their parliamentary immunity."

Ha said, "When Leader Lee was on a hunger strike, about 60 to 70 people did not visit the strike site," and added, "One variable was that if someone were absent from the vote, it would be clearly revealed who they were, which could have been a significant pressure. However, since Lee requested that everyone enter and vote together, that pressure was reduced, making it actually difficult to identify who abstained."

He predicted that if the motion passes, the Democratic Party will face aftershocks lasting about one to two months. Ha said, "There will be some, maybe one or two months. Then innovation will happen," adding, "Our party is in big trouble."

To respond to the Democratic Party's innovation, the People Power Party recently recruited Jo Jeong-hoon of the Transition Korea Party and former Namyangju Mayor Jo Gwang-han, who is from the Democratic Party. Ha said, "Recruitment is something that should be done from the start, and Jo Jeong-hoon is not a minus," adding, "A representative plus is former Mayor Jo, who is the pioneer of valley maintenance."
