The ‘2023 Literature Week’ hosted by the Korea Arts & Culture Education Service will be held from the 22nd to the 26th at Seoul Marronnier Park. Under the theme ‘Sound-Collection,’ the program combines literature and music to offer an auditory and synesthetic experience of music.
The opening ceremony will take place on the 22nd at 7 p.m. at the Hakjeon Blue Small Theater in Daehangno, Seoul. The opening performance, ‘Exchanging Sounds,’ is a collaboration between poet Ma Jong-gi and singer Lucid Fall, who have built their friendship over many years through exchanging letters.
On the 23rd, Marronnier Park in Seoul will host over 10 programs including ‘Soundtracks of Poems’ and ‘Theme Songs of My Novels.’ During the event, a commemorative exhibition for the 5th anniversary of poet Heo Su-gyeong will be held at the underground multipurpose hall of Marronnier Park. Professor Lee Yong-je, a Korean typeface designer, will exhibit works that visualize poems from Heo Su-gyeong’s selected poems collection through typography. On the 24th at 3 p.m., through the program ‘Adding Voice to Letters,’ Professor Lee Yong-je will personally introduce his creative intentions and production methods.
Additionally, literary performances and book talks in collaboration with Minumsa and Dasan Books will be offered. Programs highlighting emerging writers such as ‘My First Book Project’ and the ‘5th Anniversary Forum for Writer Choi In-hoon’ will also welcome audiences.
From 10 a.m. on the 26th, a copyright and contract consultation booth for the literary field will be operated in cooperation with the Korea Copyright Commission at the Artist’s House in Daehangno.
