Kim Saebyeol, a belongings organizer who works professionally in cleaning up the belongings at scenes of solitary deaths, suicides, and crime victims, stood at the auditorium of Yangcheon-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Gijae) on the 21st.


As the author of the book "Things Left Behind After Departure," which captures the traces left by those who have passed, and also active as a YouTuber, she shared her thoughts on the causes of the increasing solitary deaths, such as the expansion of single-person households, social disconnection, and economic poverty, with about 80 Yangcheon-gu public officials. She also discussed ways to prevent solitary deaths by detecting early warning signs and considered support measures for socially isolated households.


Yangcheon-gu holds the "Future Yangcheon Forum" monthly, inviting experts from various fields to give lectures to all employees. Kim Saebyeol was invited as the first speaker. The Future Yangcheon Forum is a place to share specialized knowledge and the latest trends through thematic lectures on welfare, education, the 4th industrial revolution, safety, and urban issues, aiming to cultivate insight and explore ways to apply it to administration. It is held once a month at the Yangcheon Digital Media Center.


The second forum, scheduled for the 12th of next month, will invite Han Dahye, a research fellow at Seoul National University's Consumer Trend Analysis Center and co-author of "Trend Korea," to highlight the key keywords for 2024 by forecasting next year's consumer trends.


Lee Gijae, Mayor of Yangcheon-gu, said, "We are starting the 'Future Yangcheon Forum' for all employees to proactively prepare for various administrative demands and to build a consensus on the district's vision." He added, "I hope that through in-depth lectures in each field, excellent ideas and policies that will drive Yangcheon's development will be discovered."
