Approximately 33.2 Billion KRW Scale... Aerospace Museum Construction
‘Korean Air’ Named for Aviation Exhibition Hall
Korean Air announced on the 20th (local time) that it has begun sponsoring the California Science Center Foundation in the United States. The sponsorship amount is $25 million (approximately 33.2 billion KRW). A retired Korean Air aircraft will also be displayed in the exhibition hall.
This sponsorship will be used for the foundation's aerospace museum construction project. They are building an interactive aerospace museum called the ‘Samuel Oschin Air and Space Center,’ which will be about 6,000 pyeong (approximately 19,835 square meters) and 20 stories tall. It will consist of an aviation exhibition hall, an astronomy exhibition hall, and a space shuttle exhibition hall. The aviation exhibition hall will be named the ‘Korean Air Exhibition Hall.’

Jowon Tae, Chairman of Hanjin Group, said, “We are pleased to have the opportunity to contribute to the Los Angeles community, with which Korean Air has had a long-standing relationship,” and added, “We hope the Korean Air Exhibition Hall will offer countless young people broad learning opportunities about the history of aviation, operating principles, and innovative technologies, while also inspiring diverse reflections on the impact aviation has on our society.”
