GS Shop announced on the 21st that from the 22nd to the 30th, it will hold the ‘Gorpcore Shopping’ special exhibition on its mobile app, gathering the 2023 F/W new arrivals from famous outdoor brands. Participating brands include Discovery Expedition, The North Face, K2, Eider, Black Yak, and Millet.
Ahead of the full-fledged FW season, GS Shop planned a brand event with a photo shoot concept to captivate outdoor shoppers. The event page is designed to showcase both the products and the 2023 F/W model photo cuts, targeting not only the familiar 40s and 50s generation accustomed to home shopping but also new customers in their 20s and 30s.
All six brands employed popular male actors as models to complete their respective outdoor styling photo shoots. Discovery Expedition revealed a photo shoot featuring Gong Yoo, who has been their main face for 11 years, wearing the ‘Vertex 3L Colorblock Gore Windstopper Jacket,’ presenting a luxurious and sophisticated styling. The North Face showcased the brand’s signature product, the ‘Cantega Gore-Tex Jacket SE,’ worn by the talented actor Cha Eun-woo, exuding trendy charm. K2’s exclusive model Park Seo-joon appeared wearing the ‘ALP Prism Gore Jacket,’ proposing diverse styles that blend nature and daily life.
Eider’s new face Kim Soo-hyun donned the highly functional windbreaker jacket ‘Windlock Windstopper Jacket,’ while Millet’s Namgoong Min, wearing the ‘Toulon L Cold Zero Tube Goose Down,’ boasted enhanced functionality and style. Black Yak presented a jacket and outerwear line that captures both functionality and style together with Son Seok-gu.
Another feature of this special exhibition is that all six participating brands are showcasing their 2023 F/W collections centered around the ‘Gorpcore look.’ Gorpcore is a fashion style that incorporates outdoor items into everyday wear, combining comfort and style, and has gained great popularity as it aligns with the lifestyle of the 20s and 30s generation.
Ham Hyun-gyu, manager of GS Shop’s M Trend Team, said, “We prepared this special exhibition focusing on outdoor brands, which are gaining increasing interest from customers ahead of the full autumn season,” adding, “We planned it with a photo shoot concept, moving beyond the conventional general exhibitions.”
