Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju 'Citizen Emergency Medical Technicians' Training

Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, is training ‘1% of Gwangsan citizens as emergency first aiders.’

The goal is to equip more than 1% of Gwangsan-gu citizens with professional emergency first aid skills to effectively respond to urgent situations such as fires, natural disasters, and major accidents.

Starting from the 19th and continuing for one month, instructors from the Gwangju-Jeonnam branch of the Korean Red Cross are conducting emergency first aid theory lectures and practical training on cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and automated external defibrillator (AED) usage for about 250 citizens and public officials.

Participants who complete the total 4-hour training will receive a certificate of completion, and the program plans to expand based on satisfaction surveys and other feedback.

To this end, the district signed a business agreement with the Gwangju-Jeonnam branch of the Korean Red Cross last August and has been collaborating on the entire project, from recruiting participants to providing emergency first aid training.
