Namhae-gun, Gyeongnam Province, has established and is implementing a 'Chuseok Holiday Comprehensive Plan' to ensure that visitors returning to their hometowns and local residents can have a comfortable and enjoyable Chuseok, the traditional Korean holiday.
Namhae-gun has prepared measures in seven key areas with 21 items, including ▲livelihood economy and stabilization of ordinary citizens' lives ▲disaster and accident prevention measures ▲emergency medical care and health measures, aiming to ensure a 'safe Chuseok holiday.'
In particular, during the six-day Chuseok holiday period from the 28th to October 3rd, comprehensive situation rooms, price stabilization and energy countermeasure situation rooms, visitor convenience situation rooms for ancestral rites, and local town and township situation rooms will be established to actively respond to any emergencies or inconveniences that may arise during the holiday.
Along with this, ahead of the Chuseok holiday, a national land cleanliness campaign is being conducted, and inspections of water purification facilities, areas with poor water supply, and accident-prone regions are underway to ensure stable water supply. Additionally, an emergency medical system will be maintained to provide continuous emergency treatment during the holiday period, minimizing inconvenience to residents.
For the convenience of visitors returning home and those traveling back, traffic order guidance and street obstruction crackdowns will be carried out, and a standby workforce will be maintained to receive reports of streetlight and security light malfunctions and to respond promptly.
County Governor Jang Chung-nam stated, “Through the implementation of sector-specific measures during the Chuseok holiday, we will do our best to ensure that visitors returning to their hometowns and residents can enjoy a pleasant and comfortable Chuseok holiday without any inconvenience.”
