In Wando, electric vehicles can be conveniently used without worries about charging.


LG Uplus and Wando-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 20th that they have signed a business agreement to establish electric vehicle charging infrastructure and decided to build electric vehicle charging infrastructure throughout Wando-gun.

LG Uplus plans to install electric vehicle charging stations throughout Wando-gun this year and provide the charging service 'VoltUP' to local residents and tourists.


LG Uplus established a dedicated EV charging business unit directly under the CEO this year and launched the electric vehicle charging service VoltUP, entering the electric vehicle charging business.


VoltUP consists of ▲ high-quality electric vehicle chargers from manufacturers such as LG Electronics and LS Electric ▲ an app platform that supports charging reservations and full charge notifications ▲ a 24/7 monitoring system and customer service center.


Additionally, LG Uplus offers a 10% discount on electric vehicle charging fees to customers using LG Uplus mobile membership.


LG Uplus will configure the ratio of fast to slow chargers installed in Wando-gun at 4:1 to enhance convenience for electric vehicle users, while also operating a 24-hour monitoring center and establishing a maintenance network capable of immediate dispatch for smooth service use. Furthermore, newly introduced maintenance vehicles will be converted to electric vehicles.


Hyun Jun-yong, Vice President of LG Uplus EV Charging Business Unit, said, "We will actively pursue innovation in customer experience by expanding electric vehicle charging infrastructure to all local governments nationwide in the future."


Shin Woo-cheol, Mayor of Wando-gun, said, "Along with achieving carbon neutrality through the promotion of eco-friendly vehicles, we will actively promote the establishment of infrastructure including electric vehicle charging stations to ensure there are no difficulties in visiting island areas."
