The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education will commission the recruitment of 119 private school teachers next year. Following the revision of the 'Private School Act' in March last year, private schools are required to commission the superintendent of education to conduct the first stage of the selection process (written exam) when hiring new teachers.
On the 19th, the Office of Education announced that the commissioned recruitment of new private school teachers next year will cover 38 corporations and 52 schools, totaling 119 teachers.
The Office of Education has been conducting commissioned recruitment of new private school teachers since 2014.
The first stage of the commissioned recruitment exam for private school teachers is conducted as the same appointment exam used for public school teachers.
An official from the Office of Education emphasized, "The commissioned recruitment of new private school teachers in 2024 was carefully reviewed in terms of the number of hires and subject selection, as it comes ahead of the full implementation of the high school credit system in 2025," adding, "We will actively support and cooperate to ensure there are no disruptions in the supply of private school teachers."
Meanwhile, the 2024 academic year commissioned recruitment exam for new private secondary school teachers will be held on November 25, following the same method as the first stage exam for public secondary teacher candidates.
