Also filmed scenes of speeding while giving a friend a ride
A teenage boy who stole a tour bus from a garage in the early morning and drove it for 30km without a license was caught by the police.
On the 18th, the Incheon Western Police Station announced that they have booked and are investigating a 16-year-old boy identified as A for theft and unlicensed driving under the Road Traffic Act after he stole a 45-seat tour bus and drove it without a license.
At around 3:30 a.m. on the 5th, A stole an unlocked tour bus from a bus garage in Bupyeong-gu, Incheon, and drove it for about 30km.
During the drive, A reportedly asked a friend riding with him to film him on a mobile phone and also filmed the crime scene himself.
After driving the bus for more than two hours, A eventually stopped after crashing into the side mirror of a dump truck parked on the road.
According to a KBS report, A stated his motive as "I wanted to post it on social networking services (SNS) and just wanted to brag." He also added, "I wanted to drive the bus, so I took it to Yeongjongdo and planned to return it afterward."
The police are investigating A for theft and unlicensed driving, and the friend who was with him is being investigated for aiding unlicensed driving. Since A has a prior record of unlicensed driving, the police said they are considering applying for an arrest warrant.
