Meeting with JP Morgan, HSBC, and Others
On the 18th, Chinese financial authorities met with some foreign financial firms and companies, pledging to create a market-oriented business environment. According to major foreign media, the People's Bank of China, the central bank, and foreign exchange regulatory authorities made this announcement during meetings with foreign financial firms and companies such as Tesla, JP Morgan, HSBC, and Deutsche Bank.
The People's Bank of China stated in a press release that Pan Gongsheng, Governor of the People's Bank of China, said at the meeting, "China will improve policies and create a market-oriented, internationally standard business environment."
Earlier this year, following the reopening of economic activities, China emphasized creating a market-friendly environment to attract foreign capital. However, contradictory actions such as raiding consulting firms that assist foreign companies operating in China and strengthening the espionage law have caused confusion among foreign companies, analysts say.
