Jasco Holdings announced on the 18th that it held a plaque unveiling ceremony at the Philippine Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) on the 15th (local time).
Jasco Holdings posted a plaque at the MGB 13 Regional Office in Surigao City, in collaboration with its local partner EVMDC (EV Mining & Development) and MGB. The MGB 13 region oversees all administrative tasks, including mining permits, for the northern Mindanao area, which is larger than South Korea.
In particular, since plaques of nickel mining companies operating in Surigao Province such as Japan's Sumitomo, Nickel Asia, and China's PGMC are also displayed, the company explained that Jasco and EVMDC have been officially recognized by the Philippine government as mining development companies in the Surigao and Dinagat areas.
Larry Hernandez, Director of MGB, stated, "Posting plaques of companies engaged in mining development at the MGB office signifies official approval of mining permits and formalizes it both domestically and internationally."
The plaque unveiling ceremony was also attended by Jacob Evasto Rogadro IV, who has been nominated as an internal director candidate of Jasco Holdings. He managed all administrative tasks related to mining permits and environmental matters in Surigao City, Philippines, for eight years. He personally posted the plaque at the parent company where he previously served as General Manager (GM) of EVMDC.
A representative of Jasco Holdings said, "Through this plaque unveiling ceremony, we have formalized the mining development business of Jasco Holdings and EVMDC in the Philippines," adding, "As the Philippines emerges as a new player in the battery supply chain, we expect mid- to long-term benefits from our nickel ore business centered there."
