Jinju-si Imposes 36.1 Billion KRW in Regular Property Tax for September

Please Make Payment by the Deadline of October 4

Jinju City in Gyeongnam has imposed 108,000 cases of regular property tax (land portion, half of the housing portion) amounting to 36.1 billion KRW this September and urged citizens to pay by October 4.

The amount of property tax imposed by Jinju City this September decreased by 2.9 billion KRW compared to last year due to the decline in real estate official prices.

Jinju-si Imposes 36.1 Billion KRW in Regular Property Tax for September Jinju City Hall.

The property tax obligor is the owner of land, buildings, houses, ships, etc. as of the tax base date (June 1 every year). Regardless of the holding period, the full amount of property tax for the year is levied on the owner as of June 1. If the balance payment was made or registration was completed before June 1, the buyer becomes the tax obligor for that year.

Property tax is levied in July and September: property tax on buildings and ships is levied in July, and property tax on land is levied in September. For houses, half of the tax amount for the year is levied in July and the remaining half in September. However, if the total tax amount for the year is 200,000 KRW or less based on the principal property tax, it is levied all at once in July.

Payment methods are convenient without the need to visit financial institutions directly. Payments can be made via Wetax, Smart Wetax, Internet Giro, virtual account transfer, and cash deposit/withdrawal machines (CD/ATM) at all banks nationwide using bankbooks or credit cards.

The payment deadline for this September's regular property tax is October 4. If you did not receive or lost the tax bill, you can get a reissue at the city tax department, eup/myeon office, or dong administrative welfare center.

A city official urged, “If the payment deadline passes, additional charges will be added and disadvantages such as property seizure may occur, so please make sure to pay within the deadline.”
