The Board of Audit and Inspection will conduct an on-site audit related to the Saemangeum World Scout Jamboree.
The audit is scheduled to be carried out by relevant agencies over two months, from the 18th of this month to November 17th. To facilitate this, audit spaces will be set up at the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family and Jeollabuk-do, among others.
Earlier, the Board of Audit and Inspection announced on the 16th of last month, immediately after the Jamboree ended, that it would begin preparations for the audit. Since then, related materials have been collected from relevant agencies.
The on-site audit targets include the Jamboree Organizing Committee and the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Jeollabuk-do Buan-gun (the local government of the event site), the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs involved in land reclamation and infrastructure development for the event site, and the Saemangeum Development Agency.
The Office for Government Policy Coordination is also included in the audit agencies. The Board of Audit and Inspection plans to examine whether the Office for Government Policy Coordination was negligent in preparing support plans for the event.
