Districts' Direct Market of Sister Cities on 19th-20th
On the 19th and 20th from 10 AM to 7 PM at Cheongjin Park, 7 cities including Geochang-gun, Gokseong-gun, Naju-si, Anseong-si, Yeoju-si, Yeongwol-gun, and Jeongeup-si participate
Jongno-gu (District Mayor Jeong Mun-heon) will hold the 'Mutually Affiliated Cities Direct Trade Market' at Cheongjin Park (146-3 Cheongsin-dong) on the 19th and 20th, ahead of the Korean traditional holiday Chuseok.
The event aims to create a direct exchange platform between urban and rural areas, producers and consumers, providing residents with the opportunity to purchase reliable, high-quality agricultural and specialty products, while also supporting increased income for farming households.
The participating cities are seven mutually affiliated cities of Jongno-gu that wished to join: ▲Geochang-gun ▲Gokseong-gun ▲Naju-si ▲Anseong-si ▲Yeoju-si ▲Yeongwol-gun ▲Jeongeup-si.
There will be 9 booths operated by 12 farms, offering a variety of local specialties as well as holiday gift sets and healthy food ingredients.
For example, Geochang-gun will sell barley rice, kamut, and fresh apples; Gokseong-gun will offer sikhye (sweet rice drink), sesame, and black soybeans (Seoritae); Naju-si will provide Naju pears, balloon flower root juice, and citron pear juice; Anseong-si will feature grapes, balloon flower root candy, gochujang (red chili paste), and Anseong rice raw Makgeolli; Yeoju-si will have pine mushroom, sweet potatoes, and peanuts; Yeongwol-gun will sell magnolia tea, chrysanthemum tea, Ssanghwa tea, and shiitake mushroom powder; Jeongeup-si will offer oats and bokbunja wine.
The operating hours for the 2023 Jongno-gu Mutually Affiliated Cities Direct Trade Market are from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

District Mayor Jeong Mun-heon stated, “In celebration of Chuseok, we have invited farming households from our mutually affiliated cities to open a platform for urban-rural coexistence.
