Jeongeup-si Operates Rural Experience Train Travel Program 'Nongttureil'

Jeongeup City in Jeonbuk announced on the 14th that it will operate the rural experience train travel program "Nongttureil" in line with the Gujeolcho Flower Festival period.

"Nongttureil" is a program jointly developed by the Rural Development Administration, Korea Railroad Corporation, and local governments to revitalize rural experience tourism. The name combines words associated with rural areas and railroads such as nontureong (rice paddy ridge), dure (a traditional cooperative labor group), and rail, symbolizing the "connection between rural areas and railroads."

Applications can be made on the "Let's Korail" website until the 5th of next month, and the price is 92,000 KRW (including round-trip train tickets and lunch).

The city has organized a travel course that satisfies all five senses, including an aloe moisturizer-making experience at the rural experience farm "Aloe Sarang," viewing the Gujeolcho Flower Festival, and visiting Ssanghwacha Street, one of Jeongeup's nine scenic spots.

The city will cover the full cost of the moisturizer-making experience.

Mayor Lee Hak-su said, "We have prepared a train travel program linking the Gujeolcho Flower Festival and rural experiences by leveraging Jeongeup's advantage of good railroad accessibility. We hope many tourists visit Jeongeup to enjoy the autumn atmosphere."
