Dongui University Busan IT Convergence Parts Research Institute Holds GS Certification Standards Briefing Session

On the 12th, Dong-Eui University Busan IT Convergence Parts Research Institute held a 'GS Certification Standards Briefing' at the 9th-floor training center of the Korea Information and Communication Technology Association (TTA) in Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do.


About 270 people who pre-registered participated in the briefing, which was conducted both online and offline. The briefing was sponsored by the Ministry of Science and ICT and jointly hosted by the Busan IT Convergence Parts Research Institute and five GS certification organizations: Korea Information and Communication Technology Association, Korea Testing Laboratory, Korea Machinery and Electrical Electronics Testing Institute, and Korea Chemical Convergence Testing Institute. Promotional activities and consultations by each organization were also conducted.

During the briefing, the five GS certification organizations explained the certification standards for documents (product manuals, user handling manuals) and executable software required to obtain GS certification, based on the 'GS Certification Standards Manual' jointly created through consultation.


They also provided information on major defect cases found during GS certification and a pre-checklist for GS certification application.


The Busan IT Convergence Parts Research Institute was designated as a software quality certification (GS certification) organization in 2021, the first nationwide university and in the southeastern region, and conducts certification in five fields: system management software, enterprise management software, industrial software, multimedia/game software, and embedded application software.


Jung Seok-chan, director of the Busan IT Convergence Parts Research Institute, said, "We hope this briefing will increase local companies' understanding of GS certification," and added, "We will make various efforts to help local companies gain competitiveness in software products."
