The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education will recruit 1,492 teachers for kindergartens, elementary schools, and special schools next year.
On the 13th, the Office announced on its website the "2024 Academic Year Gyeonggi-do Kindergarten, Elementary, and Special School (Kindergarten and Elementary) Teacher Candidate Selection Competitive Examination Implementation Plan."
The number of teachers to be recruited is ▲67 for kindergarten ▲1,325 for elementary (including 4 regional recruitment) ▲23 for special (kindergarten) ▲77 for special (elementary), totaling 1,492. This includes 112 positions reserved for persons with disabilities.
Applications will be accepted from October 2 to 6 through the "Online Teacher Recruitment System" (https://edurecruit.go.kr).
The exam will be conducted in two stages. The first stage includes teacher-related essay writing, curriculum, and Korean history (replaced by the Korean History Proficiency Test).
The Office will select 1.5 times the planned number of recruits as successful candidates for the first stage.
The second stage, for those who pass the first, includes an in-depth interview on teaching aptitude, teaching ability evaluation, English teaching demonstration, and English interview (applicable only to elementary candidates).
The first exam will be held on November 11, and the second exam will take place from January 10 to 12, 2024.
Meanwhile, the Office will separately recruit 8 teachers for national special schools (elementary) and 15 teachers (3 elementary, 12 special elementary) commissioned by private school corporations.
For private school teacher recruitment, only the first exam will be conducted by the Office on a commissioned basis.
