Hwasun-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 12th that it will conduct safety inspections for three days from the 11th to the 13th targeting multi-use facilities frequently used by many people in celebration of Chuseok, the largest traditional holiday.
The safety inspections will cover traditional markets, large supermarkets, and bus terminals.
A public-private joint inspection team composed of county officials and private experts will carry out safety checks in various fields such as architecture, electricity, gas, and fire safety.
In particular, the inspections will focus on checking for cracks, alterations, damage, or leaks in major structural parts of the facilities, as well as the proper functioning of circuit breakers, electrical facilities, gas shutoff valves, alarms, fire extinguishers, and sprinklers.
Minor issues found during the safety inspections will be corrected on-site, while those that cannot be immediately fixed will be repaired and maintained before the holiday.
For facilities where repairs are difficult before the holiday due to budget constraints or other reasons, emergency measures will be taken first, and management will continue until the risks are resolved.
Additionally, if any violations are detected in specific fields (architecture, electricity, fire safety, etc.), administrative actions will be taken according to relevant laws.
A county official stated, “We will do our best to ensure that both visitors returning to their hometowns and residents can have a safe and enjoyable holiday.”
