- Realizing the Frozen movie story as a must-visit travel destination through the touch of Disney Imagineers
The long-awaited Frozen world will open at Hong Kong Disneyland on November 20. Inspired by "Frozen" and "Frozen 2," two of the most popular animated films in the history of Walt Disney Animation Studios, the Frozen world will transport visitors to the city of Arendelle, brought to life exactly as seen in the movies. Visitors can celebrate the "Summer Snow Festival" and enjoy attractions such as "Frozen Ever After" and "Wandering Oaken's Sliding Sled" in an immersive destination where they can experience captivating stories, beloved characters, exciting culture, stunning scenery, enchanting music, and cutting-edge technology.
Micheal Moriarty, CEO of Hong Kong Disneyland, said, "Today, on the 18th anniversary of Hong Kong Disneyland Resort, we are delighted to share more about the Frozen world. The Frozen world is a key part of Hong Kong Disneyland’s recent expansion and growth, and with its opening on November 20, we look forward to welcoming more visitors from around the world. Hong Kong Disneyland continuously strives to offer new and innovative attractions so that every visit is a magical experience, and we eagerly anticipate visitors exploring Arendelle soon."
Visiting Arendelle feels like stepping right into the Frozen movies. Notable locations include the North Mountain, the highest peak in Arendelle; the Ice Palace where Elsa first freely used her ice powers; Arendelle Castle, the royal residence; Arendelle Bay, where Anna’s small boat fell when she met Prince Hans; the clock tower where Anna danced with Prince Hans; and the Fountain of Friendship, where Elsa used her magic to turn water into beautiful snowflake decorations. Visitors can also embark on a journey to meet Elsa at Frozen Ever After in the Ice Palace, start an exciting adventure riding Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sled, enjoy special encounters and playtime with Anna and Elsa at the forest playhouse, and immerse themselves in the joy of celebrating the Summer Snow Festival.
One cannot truly experience Arendelle without tasting its exquisite cuisine deeply rooted in Nordic history and culture and exploring its charming shops. At Golden Crocus Inn and Bayside Wharf, guests can savor local delicacies inspired by traditional Nordic dishes; Forest Fare offers light meals, and Northern Delights serves sweet treats. Visitors can also enjoy fun shopping at TikTok Toy Shop and Wandering Emporium. The Frozen world is more enchanting than anywhere else. Surpassing the limits of creativity from the world-renowned Walt Disney Imagineering, extensive research inspired by Norway has brought Arendelle, the hometown of Anna and Elsa, to life.
Michel Den Dulk, Chief Creative Director of Walt Disney Imagineering, said, "I am very pleased to see this project become a reality. This idea started as a sketch seven years ago and has been realized as the enchanting space called 'Frozen world,' offering magical experiences to visitors. It was made possible through collaborative efforts across various fields and has created unforgettable memories for a lifetime."
