Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, delivers warmth throughout the region to ensure no neighbors are left isolated during Chuseok.
All departments and public officials of Gwangsan-gu will participate from the 11th until the day before the Chuseok holiday on the 27th, conducting visits to 6,060 care-needy households and 53 social welfare facilities to promote a culture of donation and sharing.
They will visit care-needy neighbors such as people with disabilities, foreign residents, and single-parent families, as well as social welfare facilities, delivering consolation items including daily necessities, fruits, and tuna, while checking on their well-being.
Additionally, the 21 neighborhoods of Gwangsan-gu will collaborate with private sponsors to support 3,186 care-needy households in having a warm holiday.
Park Byung-gyu, Mayor of Gwangsan-gu, stated, “During these more difficult and challenging times than ever, we will share our hearts to ensure no one is left isolated and carefully check if there are places in need of help.”
He added, “I hope that voluntary sharing within the local community will become more active so that everyone can enjoy a joyful and happy Chuseok holiday together.”
