Buk-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, has launched an all-out effort to stabilize people’s livelihoods and revitalize the local community in celebration of the Chuseok holiday.
On the 10th, Buk-gu announced that it will implement a comprehensive plan consisting of 23 measures across 10 key areas until November 3rd to prepare for the Chuseok holiday. These areas include ▲support for marginalized neighbors ▲price stabilization ▲resolution of unpaid wages ▲traffic order ▲disaster safety ▲civil complaint handling ▲clean environment ▲establishment of public service discipline ▲special quarantine ▲medical response.
Buk-gu will deliver consolation goods to social welfare facilities and about 2,500 low-income households to eliminate welfare blind spots and spread a warm holiday atmosphere where everyone can enjoy a heartfelt Chuseok with their neighbors.
Considering concerns about prices rising due to the rainy season and heat waves, a special price management period and a comprehensive price countermeasures situation room will be intensively operated to closely monitor the supply status and price trends of holiday seasonal products.
Additionally, Buk-gu will promote local economic vitality by encouraging the use of traditional markets and small business owners through the second phase of the small business live commerce support project and the Onnuri gift certificate purchase campaign.
In areas expected to experience traffic congestion due to visitors to ancestral graves, Buk-gu will cooperate with the Northern Model Drivers Association to maintain order on-site for smooth traffic flow, and strengthen resident safety protection activities by conducting safety inspections of multi-use facilities and establishing an emergency duty system at the disaster safety situation room.
Furthermore, Buk-gu plans to minimize residents’ inconvenience by operating a health center medical response team, maintaining a 24-hour treatment system at emergency medical institutions to thoroughly prepare for emergency patients, and implementing comprehensive cleanliness measures, illegal advertisement cleanup, and unmanned civil service issuance machine operations.
A Buk-gu official stated, "Given the recent difficult livelihood conditions due to high prices, we will make special efforts to protect marginalized neighbors and small business owners."
