"Obsessed with Sexual Desire"... Coast Guard Officer Caught at Massage Parlor After Killing Lover

'Curious Story Y' Final Whereabouts and Testimony Broadcast
"If Things Don't Go Their Way, They Cry, Throw Tantrums, and Even Resort to Violence"

The news that Choi Mo (30), a current Coast Guard officer arrested on suspicion of murdering his lover in a restroom, was caught at a massage parlor has caused shock.

On the 9th, SBS's 'Curious Story Y' reported on Choi's last whereabouts and testimonies from acquaintances. Those close to him testified that Choi was "obsessed with sexual desire, and if things did not go his way, he would cry, throw tantrums, and show violent behavior."

Choi's girlfriend, victim A (30), was found dead in the restroom of a restaurant in Mokpo, Jeollanam-do, around 6 a.m. on the 15th of last month.

At the scene, paramedics who arrived found A sitting on the floor, clutching the toilet with her head halfway inside. They initially thought she had vomited and collapsed due to airway obstruction, but upon discovering bruises around her neck, they suspected signs of strangulation.

The paramedics also testified, "The victim was wearing a long skirt but no underwear. There was no underwear visible nearby."

Reviewing CCTV footage around the establishment, two people were seen talking after leaving a bar at about 1:15 a.m. on the day of the incident. Choi then kissed and hugged A.

The two re-entered the establishment and left about an hour later, around 2 a.m. Choi pushed A toward a lodging facility, but A gestured refusal.

Afterwards, the two headed to a nearby restaurant, the crime scene. Choi followed A into the restroom, came out 30 minutes later to pay for food, and then re-entered the restroom. This was around 3:50 a.m. Around 5:30 a.m., Choi exited the restaurant through the restroom window, returned 10 minutes later, and checked inside through the window.

Choi then took a taxi to the Coast Guard housing and left the housing in his own car around 9:30 a.m. The place where Choi was found was a massage parlor located two minutes from the restaurant where the crime occurred. Choi was arrested there around 4 p.m. that day while naked.

Professor Lee Soo-jung, a criminal psychology expert at Kyonggi University, explained, "The core motive of the incident appears to be 'sexual desire relief.' He likely had a strong desire to imprint the idea that 'sexually, I own you, so we cannot break up.' To relieve that tension, he went straight to the massage parlor, which suggests he is a person with insufficient self-control."
