Busan City, together with the Busan Institute (President Shin Hyun-seok), will hold the "Busan Youth Panel Conference" at 2 p.m. on the 18th at the Orchid Room of Ibis Ambassador Busan City Center.
This conference was organized to analyze the 2022 Busan Youth Panel Survey data conducted on 3,000 Busan youth panelists, share academic research results on youth outflow, and discuss policy tasks for Busan as a city that empowers youth.
First, expert presentations will be held under the themes of "Youth Life Seen Through Youth Panels" and "Why Are Busan Youth Leaving?"
The first topic presentation, titled "Youth Life Seen Through Youth Panels," will feature researchers from the Seoul Institute and Busan Institute conducting youth panel surveys presenting ▲ "The Multidimensional Life of Seoul Youth Panel" (Researcher Park Min-jin) and ▲ "Life and Prospects of Busan Youth Panel" (Director Son Heon-il of the Social, Cultural, and Tourism Research Office), respectively.
The second topic presentation will share academic research results on "Why Are Busan Youth Leaving?" with presentations on ▲ Decision Factors for Migration of Busan Youth (Professor Jung Hyun-woo, Pusan National University), ▲ Perceptions of Social Capital and Migration Intentions of Busan Youth (Lecturer Yoon Han-sung, Pukyong National University), and ▲ Outflow Status and Determinants of Busan Youth Workers (Deputy Director Park Joo-sang, Regional Labor and Social Research Institute).
Following the topic presentations, a panel discussion will take place. Busan city council members, youth policy experts, and youth representatives will discuss policy tasks to make Busan a city that empowers youth.
Professor Kwon Hyuk-ki of Dong-Eui University will chair the session, with participants including Busan City Council members Kim Hyung-chul and Ban Seon-ho, Assistant Professor Min Hee of Pusan National University, Researcher Yoon Hye-rin of the Gyeongnam Institute, and youth entrepreneur Woo Dong-jun. They will share the youth issues faced by the region and exchange diverse opinions to create a Busan that empowers its youth.
Anyone interested in youth policy can participate in the conference. Applications can be submitted online until September 15.
