Seongbuk-gu, Resident Participation Budget Formation Resident Vote

Resident Voting to be Held on Seoul EmVoting Website from September 11 to September 15

Seongbuk-gu, Resident Participation Budget Formation Resident Vote

Seongbuk-gu (Mayor Lee Seung-ro) will conduct an online resident vote from September 11 to September 15 to prioritize the 2024 Resident Participatory Budget Projects.

The "Seongbuk-gu Resident Participatory Budget" is a system that guarantees resident participation in overall financial management such as budget formulation, where projects proposed by residents are reviewed and decided through a resident vote.

To decide the resident participatory budget projects for next year, a total of 199 resident proposals were received during May. The related project departments reviewed the legality, effectiveness, and feasibility of the proposals, and the Resident Participatory Budget Committee deliberated on them. A final voting list of 43 projects (approximately 2.36 billion KRW) was selected, and through voting, resident participatory budget projects worth a total of 1.5 billion KRW will be finalized.

▲ Installation of canopies around Jangwol Elementary School ▲ Maintenance of street trees and creation of flower paths around Bomun-ro 34-gil ▲ Creation of a children's playground in Bukhansan Ecological Forest ▲ Installation of ramps for small stores in Seongbuk-gu, among various projects reflecting residents' daily opinions, are subject to voting. Residents can vote for the projects they think should be prioritized.

Anyone who lives, works, or studies in Seongbuk-gu can participate in the vote through the Seoul M-Voting website. The voting results will be announced at the Resident Participatory Budget General Assembly held at Seongbuk-gu Office on September 26, and the selected projects will be finalized as the 2024 Seongbuk-gu Resident Participatory Budget after approval by the council.

Lee Seung-ro, Mayor of Seongbuk-gu, stated, "Since these projects were discovered and proposed by many residents throughout the year, I hope many will participate in the resident vote for selecting next year's resident participatory budget projects to qualitatively improve residents' quality of life."
