Blood Alcohol Concentration at License Cancellation Level
Charges Also Applied for Failure to Take Action After Accident
Singer Heo Gong (38) was recently revealed to have been caught by the police on charges of drunk driving.
The Pyeongtaek Police Station in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 8th that Heo Gong has been booked without detention on charges of violating the Road Traffic Act (drunk driving and failure to take action after an accident) and is currently under investigation.
According to the police, Heo Gong is suspected of driving a vehicle while intoxicated around 9:30 a.m. on the 11th of last month in the Seojeong-dong area of Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province. He reportedly got into the car after drinking near the area and damaged a residential wall while driving.
The police responded to a 112 report from a citizen who said, "There is a vehicle swerving across lanes," and found Heo Gong's vehicle at the scene. The breathalyzer test conducted on site showed that Heo Gong's blood alcohol concentration was at a level warranting license cancellation.
Additionally, Heo Gong is also charged with failure to take proper action after the accident, as he left the scene without addressing the damage to the wall.
Meanwhile, Heo Gong is the twin older brother of Heo Gak and, like his younger brother, is active as a singer. He debuted in 2011 with the album 'New Story Part1'.
