Chairman Ryu met with Minister Cho and Labor Jin, President of the National Federation of Fisheries Cooperatives, to discuss support measures for fishermen and the fisheries industry suffering from the discharge of contaminated water from the Fukushima nuclear power plant. Known as a U.S. expert, Chairman Ryu plans to actively participate in international trade issues since his inauguration. The Federation announced on the 6th that Chairman Ryu proposed to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, along with the Japan Business Federation (Keidanren), to establish a 'Korea-U.S.-Japan Trilateral Economic Council.'
