Samyang Foods Launches 60th Anniversary 'Samyang Ramen' with Updated Taste and Packaging

Enhancing Umami Flavor and Completely Renewing Package Front Design

Samyang Foods announced on the 8th that it will fully renew the taste and design of 'Samyang Ramen,' which has reached its 60th anniversary since its launch.

Samyang Foods conducted about a year of research and development to renew the taste of Samyang Ramen and Samyang Ramen Spicy Flavor. Samyang Ramen maintained its identity with a ham flavor, enhancing the broth and vegetable stock flavors to create a refreshing and clean umami-rich soup taste. Samyang Ramen Spicy Flavor implemented a rich and spicy broth taste based on beef stock, using various aromatic ingredients such as green onions, garlic, and chili peppers.


To enhance the chewy texture of the noodles, potato starch was added, and the original round noodles were changed to square noodles. The square noodles have the advantage of maintaining the characteristic curly texture of ramen because they are cut as is during the production process and then go through the frying process.


Samyang Foods also changed the design of Samyang Ramen and Samyang Ramen Spicy Flavor. While maintaining Samyang Foods' heritage, a new CI (Corporate Identity) was applied. The front of the package features an appetizing image of Samyang Ramen, emphasizing that it is Korea’s first ramen and expressing the distinctive taste characteristics.


A representative from Samyang Foods said, "We renewed Samyang Ramen’s identity, which contains 60 years of ramen production know-how, while aligning with consumer-preferred trends. Through various marketing activities, we will enhance the value of the Samyang brand and expand our market share in the domestic ramen market.”
