Creation of Themed Flower Beds at Major Songpa Locations... Planting Autumn Flowers such as Garden Mum and Spray Chrysanthemum

Songpa-gu (Mayor Seo Gang-seok) is creating a beautiful flower street adorned with autumn flowers along major roads such as the Jamsil Station intersection to welcome the upcoming fall season.

This autumn, the district plans to plant a variety of colorful species such as chrysanthemums and marigolds to bring warmth and vitality to the barren road environment.

Starting with the traffic island at the busy Jamsil Station intersection, followed by three central medians on Olympic-ro and one traffic island at the Garak Market intersection, a total of five locations covering 3,525㎡ will be transformed into themed flower beds filled with the scent of autumn flowers.

In particular, the traffic islands at the Jamsil Station intersection and Garak Market intersection will be planted with spray chrysanthemums symbolizing autumn as the base, along with garden mums, asters, marigolds, and other annual flowers, creating a harmonious blend of vibrant colors that catch the eye. These flowers are expected to bloom until the end of September, brightly illuminating the streets of Songpa.

Additionally, various streets in Songpa-gu, including Songpa-daero and Olympic-ro, will be decorated with seasonal flowers such as wave petunias and begonias, known for their vivid colors and striking shapes. By mid-September, hanging flower pots will be installed on streetlights along 11 major roads, railing-type hanging flower pots will be placed at 17 major bus stops on Songpa-daero, and street flower pots will be set up at key intersections to create an urban atmosphere filled with the scent of autumn.

Furthermore, in connection with the ‘Songpa-daero Premium Street Development’ plan, the project will enhance its effectiveness by introducing design concepts alongside the creation of flower-lined streets that bloom throughout all four seasons.
