It was later confirmed that citizens nearby rescued a man in his 60s who had fallen onto the subway platform tracks while intoxicated.
According to the Dobong Police Station and fire authorities in Seoul on the 6th, a report was received on the 3rd at around 8:25 p.m. that an intoxicated man had fallen onto the tracks at Dobongsan Station on Seoul Subway Line 1. The man, identified as Mr. A in his 60s, reportedly stumbled on the platform heading toward Incheon and fell onto the evacuation train track below. Two male passengers who saw Mr. A fall jumped onto the tracks, lifted him, and pushed him back onto the platform, while another man and two women nearby helped pull him up from above.
When station staff, who confirmed the situation through closed-circuit television (CCTV), and police and fire authorities who responded to the report arrived at the scene, Mr. A had already been rescued with their help. After receiving emergency treatment on site for about 30 minutes, Mr. A was transported to a nearby hospital. Aside from bruises on his head and body, he was reported to have no life-threatening injuries. The five passengers who participated in the rescue left the scene immediately after confirming Mr. A’s safety.
