Professor Kim Mikyung of Silla University Wins Invitation Artist Award at the 20th International Design Festival

Professor Kim Mi-kyung of the Visual Design Department at Silla University received the 'Invited Artist Award' at the '2023 20th Busan International Design Festival.'

On the 4th, Professor Kim Mi-kyung from Silla University's Visual Design Department exhibited her work at the '20th Busan International Design Festival,' held under the theme 'Guaranteeing Environmental Rights! Speaking about Climate Disasters,' and won an award.

This exhibition featured 202 artists from 8 countries, mainly professors from design-related universities and group designers in Busan, and Professor Kim Mi-kyung's work '1.5℃-1.2℃=0.3℃' was selected for the 'Invited Artist Award.'

Professor Kim's work '1.5℃-1.2℃=0.3℃' visualizes global warming to express the urgency of the climate crisis and was recognized as a piece that well represents the theme 'Guaranteeing Environmental Rights! Speaking about Climate Disasters.'

Professor Kim Mi-kyung said, "It is an honor to participate in an exhibition that can present a better future through design works amid the serious situation of climate change," adding, "I want to continuously research education that enables creative design to solve climate disasters."

Professor Kim has been actively engaged in artistic activities, receiving awards such as the 'Best Work Award' at the '2017 WLU International Design Invitational Exhibition' and the 'Excellence Award' at the 'KOCON 2023 International Digital Design Invitational Exhibition.'

Based on her experience in artistic activities, she is dedicated to researching and educating to foster students' creativity and expressive abilities, contributing to the cultivation of professional talent in the design field.
