Busan Gijang-gun, Recruiting Students for the 3rd Term of the County Citizens' University and Language School

Gijang-gun will recruit students for the ‘2023 3rd Term Gijang-gun Citizen University and Gijang-gun Citizen Language School’ for two days from the 11th to the 12th.


The Gijang-gun Citizen University is divided into general education courses, humanities courses, and 5060 middle-aged courses, with 43 courses offered and operated.


Various hobby, culture, humanities, and certification courses such as ‘Chat GPT and Artificial Intelligence,’ ‘Gijang Environmental Guardians (Recycling Education in Daily Life),’ and ‘Humanities through Greek Mythology’ are available, along with customized lifelong learning courses for the 5060 middle-aged group such as ‘Innovative Organizing and Storage Expert’ and ‘Becoming an Honorary Gijang YouTuber.’


The Gijang-gun Citizen Language School offers 39 programs including language courses by proficiency level in English, Japanese, Chinese, and mobile video (phone) classes.


This term, a new French course has been added to the Citizen Language School program, allowing learners to acquire both cultural and language knowledge while studying French.

The 3rd term lifelong learning program will run for a total of 10 weeks from October 4 to December 13, and anyone aged 20 or older who is a Gijang-gun resident or works in Gijang-gun can apply.


However, the 5060 middle-aged course of Gijang-gun Citizen University is only available to those born on or before December 31, 1972. Applications will be accepted for two days from the 11th to the 12th, and those wishing to enroll can apply through the Gijang-gun Lifelong Learning website.


A Gijang-gun official said, “We have prepared various courses reflecting the needs of citizens to expand lifelong education opportunities for residents,” and added, “We hope this will be an opportunity for active participation in the programs and to enjoy the joy of learning.”
