Reported Moving to Haenam... Accelerating Efforts to Win Public Support
Former National Intelligence Service Director Park Ji-won is drawing attention by announcing his candidacy for the Jeonnam Haenam-Wando-Jindo electoral district in next year's general election.
Since declaring his candidacy, Park visited his hometown Jindo for the first time from the 1st for a 2-night, 3-day schedule.

On the 2nd, residents warmly welcomed Park at the 16th Jindo-eup Seobu-in Sports Festival held at Jindoseo Elementary School in Jindo-eup, chanting his name “Park Ji-won.”
At the event, the incumbent Democratic Party of Korea lawmaker Yoon Jae-gap and challenger Park Ji-won drew attention by appearing together.
Lawmaker Yoon showed respect to Park, who is an advisor of the same party, by inviting him to sit together in the front row reserved seats, attracting attention.
Later, Park attended an invited meeting hosted by the Jindo Junior Chamber (Jindo JC), where he joined as an honorary member 15 years ago, and exchanged opinions on youth issues and regional development plans.
The next day, on the 3rd, he visited Paengmok Port and Seomang Port, symbolic sites of the Sewol ferry disaster, met with fisheries workers, and held a meeting with the Jodo Bridge Construction Promotion Committee.

Following that, Park attended an invited meeting hosted by the Korea Fisheries Management Association Jindo County Federation (President Park Nam-su), where they discussed countermeasures against the discharge of contaminated water from the Fukushima nuclear power plant in Japan and plans for fisheries development, sharply criticizing the current administration.
At the meeting, former Director Park Ji-won stated, “Do not give any votes to the ruling party in next year’s general election, and the Democratic Party must win. If President Yoon Seok-yeol takes control of even the National Assembly, where will this country go? I will fight once for the Democratic Party.”
Park has recently shown confidence in the Democratic Party’s primary and nomination process during his regional activities.
He recently signed a contract for an apartment in Haenam-eup, plans to register his residence soon, and intends to accelerate his campaign by visiting places such as the Myeongnyang Battle Festival venue scheduled to open on the 8th.
