GC Green Cross Wellbeing Obtains International Certifications for Industrial Accident and Environmental Accident Prevention Simultaneously

GC Green Cross Wellbeing announced on the 6th that it has obtained ISO14001 (Environmental Management System) and ISO45001 (Occupational Health and Safety Management System) certifications from DQS Korea.

ISO14001 is an environmental management system standard established by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). It is a certification system designed for companies to systematically identify and evaluate their environmental impacts and efficiently manage related factors. ISO45001 is a standard for occupational health and safety management systems. It is a system in which all employees and stakeholders participate to predict, prevent, and manage various risks that may occur in the workplace in advance.


GC Green Cross Wellbeing had previously obtained the certification in 2015, but with the full-scale operation of the 'Innovation Factory' in Maengdong-myeon, Eumseong-gun, Chungbuk Innovation City, it newly applied facility and production-related matters and received the ISO14001 and ISO45001 certifications again this time.


The Innovation Factory, which began operation in June 2021, was built on a site with a land area of 34,000㎡. It can produce 62 million ampoules and 47 million vials annually, which is three times the existing production volume. It manufactures 40 types of nutritional injection pharmaceuticals, including the representative placental injection drug ‘Rainek’ as well as vitamins and minerals.


Osangsoo, Head of Production at GC Green Cross Wellbeing, said, "With this certification acquisition, we have established a work environment system that can efficiently prevent industrial accidents and environmental incidents in the pharmaceutical and bio industries," and added, "We will strive to strengthen internal and external verification for sustainable management and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management activities."
