Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) is strengthening its cooperation system with the Gwangjin Police Station to protect the safety of its residents.
In response to the recent series of random motive crimes (commonly known as 'mutjima crimes'), the '2023 Gwangjin-gu Regional Public Safety Council' was held at the Gwangjin Police Station on the 5th.
The meeting was attended by 27 people, including Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu and chairman of the Regional Public Safety Council, Park Chang-ji, Chief of Gwangjin Police Station and vice chairman, and Chu Yoon-gu, Chairman of the Gwangjin-gu Council. In-depth discussions were held on close communication and information sharing among the public, private, and police sectors, as well as ways to strengthen the crime prevention system.
The main agenda items included ▲strengthening collaboration between Gwangjin-gu and Gwangjin Police Station’s integrated CCTV control center ▲establishing a cooperation system when installing security CCTV in high-crime areas ▲and enhancing management of community mental health patients.
Mayor Kim Kyung-ho said, “Residents’ anxiety is increasing due to violent crimes that can occur anytime and anywhere. We will create a safer and happier Gwangjin-gu by expanding the installation of security CCTV where needed and actively collaborating with related organizations, including the Gwangjin Police Station.”
