According to the Daily Mail on the 1st (local time), a video showing a white man on an American Airlines flight angrily protesting to a flight attendant has gone viral on the U.S. social media platform Reddit.
The passenger reportedly complained that another passenger was placing luggage in the overhead compartment directly above his seat.
He pointed to a person of color who had placed luggage in the compartment and angrily told the flight attendant, "That man put his bag up here, so there’s no space left." Although not captured on video, the filmer said the man also made racist remarks.
The flight attendant raised a finger and said to the passenger, "Please stop all your actions." However, the man threatened the attendant, saying, "If you point at me one more time, I will call the police."
Ultimately, the man was removed from the plane by airline security personnel for delaying the boarding process.
However, according to the filmer, when the man was gathering his luggage from the overhead compartment to get off the plane, he took out as many as four large bags.
According to American Airlines regulations, passengers are allowed to bring only one personal item and one carry-on bag onboard, but the man himself had violated this rule.
Local netizens responded with comments such as, "He was pointing fingers at the flight attendant himself, so why is he threatening to call the police?" and "I hope this video spreads widely so he realizes what he did wrong."
