Tzuyang, a leading domestic mukbang YouTuber with 8.67 million subscribers, recently visited Garak Market in Songpa-gu, Seoul, where she purchased two king crabs weighing 4.6 kg and 3.1 kg respectively, along with 400g of scallops. Market vendors called it a "16 servings worth" and expressed astonishment.

On the 2nd, Tzuyang released a video titled "Seafood Market Devastated. Garak Market King Crab 8kg Mukbang," in which she ate not only the two king crabs but also the scallops and abalone she received as a service. After finishing all the seafood, she also cooked and ate two servings of ramen.

Prior to this, on the 25th of last month, Tzuyang uploaded a video titled "Mukbang with 5 King Tiger Prawns as big as forearms and 2kg of salmon soy sauce marinated dish (feat. Jim Beam Highball)," which received malicious comments from some netizens. This video was sponsored by the Japanese liquor company Suntory.

Netizens who watched this video responded with comments such as "Given the current situation, promoting seafood along with Japanese highball is inappropriate," "Don't eat seafood," "Get some sense," and "Why suddenly promote seafood and Japanese alcohol when Japan is dumping radioactive water from Fukushima?"

One week after facing the malicious comment attacks, Tzuyang steadfastly continued her seafood mukbangs, which led to supportive comments this time. Especially at a time when concerns are rising over decreased seafood consumption due to the discharge of contaminated water from the Fukushima nuclear plant, uploading seafood mukbang videos consecutively is seen by some as a 'patriotic mukbang' that supports fishermen and the seafood industry.

Netizens who watched the king crab video commented with support such as "The seafood market situation isn't good these days... impressive," "It's nice to see someone confidently standing by their beliefs," "Supporting Korean fishermen and seafood industry workers suffering from rumor-mongering and agitation," and "Uploading seafood videos during difficult times is a good deed."

Meanwhile, as Japan began discharging contaminated water from the Fukushima nuclear plant on the 24th of last month, concerns have grown that the domestic seafood market will shrink, prompting the government and local governments to promote seafood consumption.

President Yoon Suk-yeol visited Noryangjin Fisheries Wholesale Market in Dongjak-gu, Seoul, on the 31st of last month, purchasing seafood worth tens of thousands of won and announcing that he would consume this seafood at official dinners for the time being. At an emergency economic and livelihood meeting held the day before, President Yoon stated, "We will also swiftly and boldly support the seafood industry, which is suffering from fake news and false agitation," adding, "We will actively respond to baseless rumors and agitation, and allocate an additional 80 billion won in contingency funds within this year to promote the consumption of our seafood."
