The six faculty members retiring as of the 31st of last month are Kwak Young-kwon from the Graduate School of Design, Hwang Eun-seong from the Department of Life Sciences, Yoo Jae-chun from the Department of Design, Kim Hyo from the Department of Chemical Engineering, Heo Jeong-ho from the Department of Architecture, and Kim Gyu-sik from the Department of Electronic, Electrical and Computer Engineering. President Won Yong-geol of Seoul City University presented government medals, awards, and plaques of appreciation at the retirement ceremony. Family members, fellow professors, students, and staff also attended the ceremony to celebrate the retirements.
President Won said, "It is an honor that Seoul City University, with its history of over 100 years, is recognized as an excellent university thanks to the tireless dedication of the retiring professors to nurturing future generations and their research activities," adding, "We support the retiring professors as they embark on a new journey in the second chapter of their lives."
