Traffic Safety for Children at the Start of the School Year... Proactive Weekly Intensive Crackdown

Jeonbuk Provincial Police Agency (Chief Kang Hwang-su) will conduct a comprehensive daytime crackdown on drunk driving on the 1st to prevent drunk driving accidents in school zones and ensure children's traffic safety during the start of the school term.

According to Jeonbuk Police, an analysis of drunk driving accident times still shows that a significant portion of accidents occur between 2 PM and 4 PM. This is to raise drivers' awareness during the after-school hours when the traffic volume of children is high at the start of the school term.

Kim Myung-gyeom, head of the Traffic Safety Division, stated, "Drunk driving, which threatens not only oneself but also the lives of others, is a serious crime," and added, "We will continue to do our best to prevent accidents where children are endangered due to drunk driving."
