851 Students Selected Through Rolling Admissions
New Departments Established Including Virtual Reality Convergence Department
Duksung Women’s University will select 851 students in the 2024 academic year early admission. They have established new departments in advanced fields such as Virtual Reality Convergence and Data Science, and will quantitatively reflect career choice subjects in the student record screening and art practical screening.
The admission types include Student Record 100% Screening, High School Recommendation Screening, Equal Opportunity Screening, and Duksung Talent Screening I & II. For the comprehensive student record screening, Duksung Talent Screening I will select 96 students, Duksung Talent Screening II 142 students, and Equal Opportunity Screening II (Social Contributors) 5 students. Outside the quota, a total of 371 students will be selected through the Equal Opportunity Screening.
For candidates of Duksung Talent Screening II and Equal Opportunity Screening I (Disabled), 4 times the number of recruits will be selected in the first stage through 100% document evaluation, and in the second stage, the final successful candidates will be selected with 60% of the first stage document evaluation and 40% interview evaluation. The other six comprehensive student record screenings will select successful candidates based on 100% document evaluation.
The document evaluation for the comprehensive student record screening is a comprehensive and qualitative assessment based on the school life record, evaluating development capability, academic capability, and Duksung capability. The interview evaluation for candidates of Duksung Talent Screening II and Equal Opportunity Screening I (Disabled) is conducted based on document-based interviews.
The student record screening will select a total of 324 students: 165 for the Student Record 100% Screening, 134 for the High School Recommendation Screening, and 25 for the Equal Opportunity Screening I (Social Integration). All three screenings select successful candidates based on 100% student record (curriculum). The High School Recommendation Screening requires a recommendation from the school principal to apply, and there is no limit on the number of recommendations per high school.
For the essay screening, 100 students will be selected, with 100% reflection of the essay test. The essay test for the humanities and social sciences involves reading the provided passage and writing a specific answer required by the question, using topic sentences or themes from textbooks as much as possible, and is designed within the high school curriculum. For the natural sciences (mathematical essay), the test maintains the format of questions from common subjects such as Mathematics, Mathematics I, and Mathematics II. The Student Record 100% Screening and Essay Screening apply minimum CSAT score requirements.
The Art Practical Screening selects 56 students from the Art & Design College. The successful candidates are selected based on 80% practical test and 20% student record. The practical test requires choosing one subject among figure sketching, color sketching, basic design, and creative thinking.
The minimum CSAT score requirement for the Student Record 100% Screening (excluding the College of Pharmacy) and Essay Screening is that the sum of the grades of two subjects among Korean, English, Mathematics, and Inquiry (Social/Science, top 1 subject) must be within 7. For the Student Record 100% Screening (College of Pharmacy), the sum of grades of three subjects including Mathematics (choose one between Calculus/Geometry) among Korean, English, Mathematics, and Inquiry (top 1 science subject) must be within 6.
